A Few of Our Favorite People
My brother and his family came to visit us this week, and as always, we loved every minute! Brian and Laura are such fun, fun people. We spend so much time laughing, often at each other. They’re just so down to earth, and easy, enjoyable guests. Plus, they have three adorable little girls - Katy and Emily (who are 4 years old, same as Jack), and Alison (who is 2, same as Abby). There’s nothing quite like the sound of little feet thundering upstairs accompanied by squeals of laughter as cousins race down the hallway together.

Dan the Man
Someone mentioned that this guy would like to see his picture on our blog. I think because we see him frequently, we just forget to take pictures..but here’s to a great Dad and Grandpa! We love ya!

Happy Birthday, Abigail!
Abby turned two yesterday! Happy Birthday, Daughter! What a joy our girl is to us. She has such sweet smiles, a feisty independent spirit, and she loves to laugh and be silly. What tremendous leaps babies make in the first two years of their lives. We’ve treasured every minute watching her grow and learn. We are so blessed with such a sweetie. We love you, Abby.

Happy Girl
Tim took these a couple weeks ago at a park just across the street from our development. Abby loves to swing! She’s turning two on Sunday and getting to be such a big girl!
We’re Teaching Manners Around Here
Today while Jack, Abby and I enjoyed our lunch, this little conversation took place.
Jack (very matter of fact): Excuse me.
[Silence while we look at him and wait for the explanation.]
Jack: I just blowed air. Out my bottom. So I said excuse me.
Me: Oh. That’s very polite, buddy. Thank you.

Ka-chow!
If you’ve seen the movie Cars, you’ll recognize that as Lightning McQueen’s signature saying. I think we’ve watched this movie a little too much lately.
Today Tim needed to get his oil changed in his car, so I followed him to the Acura dealership so he didn’t have to wait around. Of course the kids are with me, but Jack thinks the whole thing is a race. He yells at me from the back, “Mom! Take the inside! Get on the inside and crash him!” As we stop at red lights, he gauges where Tim is, and lets me know how we’re doing, if we’re ahead or behind. Once the light turns green, he lets out with, “Okay, Mom, green is go! Now, now, NOW! Take this thing to the inside and give it all you got!”
Unfortunately for us, we lost. But it was only by a hair.
Next time I’ll take the inside.

Memorial Day Weekend
We spent Memorial Day weekend up in Visalia with my parents. What a fun time! We went to the park, splashed in the pool every day, and enjoyed my Dad’s great BBQ tri-tip. My mom and I met my good friend Heather at the mall one afternoon, and our kids were able to play together. I had never met her daughter - what a cutie! Ellie and Abby are close in age, and so are Jack and Heather’s son, Ethan. Jack was able to share his favorite movie with his grandparents,Cars. Bless their hearts, both of my parents sat through it at separate times and watched the whole thing with him. My Dad took the kids out to the pool every day. Abby only made it in the pool a couple times, but she enjoyed splashing around with a bucket full of water and some toys. Jack swam and played with Grandpa, and even braved a kickboard. I got to go shopping with my Mom and catch up on some TLC cooking programs - always fun. We even caught an episode of Iron Chef. Intense!
